1 Strategy & planning
Understanding your yacht and how your crew operates is the key to success
Every project begins with understanding the yacht before discussing clothes. We consider its architecture, interiors, operating rhythm, destinations and the way its crew work.
Existing uniforms are reviewed, practical requirements challenged and quantities mapped. From this, we establish a clear wardrobe strategy: what is needed, when it is worn and how each piece contributes to a coherent whole.
2 Design concepts
Design directions are uniquely shaped around your yacht’s identity and onboard experience
With the framework established, we give the wardrobe its character. Proportion, colour, silhouette and detail are developed in dialogue with the yacht’s wider design language, rather than applied as decoration afterwards.
We draw from our own collection alongside custom development, creating a concise system of pieces that feels considered, distinctive and a reflection of its setting.
3 Cutting & patterns
Garments are developed to ensure the right fit, balance, and movement
For Sørensen, a garment begins at the pattern table. We work through balance, proportion, movement and construction before a style reaches production, refining patterns through repeated sampling and fitting.
This fashion-led approach gives even apparently simple pieces their distinction: a better shoulder, a cleaner line, a more considered length — differences that become particularly apparent when an entire crew is dressed together.
4 Materials
Materials are selected to perform in the nautical environment and the daily demands
Materials are selected for what they can do as much as how they look and feel. We work closely with European mills to find fabrics, trims and components suited to each garment’s purpose, testing them against the realities of repeated wear and laundering.
Colour, handle, weight, recovery and consistency are considered together, so performance is engineered into the wardrobe rather than added as an afterthought.
5 Crew fittings
Fittings ensure crew members feel comfortable and confident
A uniform only works when the people wearing it feel comfortable and assured. Detailed fittings allow us to give guidance on individual sizing while seeing the wardrobe collectively: how silhouettes sit across different bodies, where adjustments are needed and how the overall balance holds together.
The process is precise, translating the design intent into clothing that works convincingly across an entire team.
6 Production
Our Portuguese and Italian factories deliver the quality your yacht and crew deserve
Once every detail is resolved, our European production partners translate the approved wardrobe into bulk manufacture. Specifications, colour, construction and finishing are closely controlled, with consistency as important as craftsmanship.
We maintain oversight from first production through final quality checks, ensuring the garment that arrives is the garment we designed — not an approximation gradually diluted through the manufacturing process.
7 Logistics & distribution
Delivering your uniforms, wherever your yacht is moored, is always a special moment
Our responsibility continues beyond production. We coordinate quantities, personalisation, packing and delivery around the yacht’s programme, bringing individual garments together into a complete working wardrobe.
Ongoing requirements can then be managed through replenishment and stockholding, providing continuity as crew change and pieces need replacing. The aim is simple: considered clothing, delivered accurately, with as little operational friction as possible.
